AMA Waterways

AmaWaterways is the line that food lovers return to again and again.
Family-founded and family-run, it has built its reputation on cuisine that rivals fine restaurants ashore, paired with wines chosen to match each region the ship passes through.
But there is energy here too: a fleet of bikes, guided hikes and active excursions for those who like to earn their dinner. The ships are elegant and beautifully kept, the welcome genuinely warm.
AmaWaterways is the cruise if you want exceptional dining, gentle adventure and the feel of a family that loves what it does.
Where every journey delights
AMA Waterways
AmaWaterways' great distinction is its food: it is the only river cruise line ever inducted into La Chaîne des Rôtisseurs, the world's oldest gastronomic society.
Every ship carries The Chef's Table, an intimate specialty restaurant serving a multi-course tasting menu, complimentary to all guests, that genuinely no competitor matches.
The line also pioneered the twin-balcony stateroom, pairing a French balcony with a step-out balcony in one room. Add fleetwide wellness, a SIP fitness programme and small-group active excursions, and you have a line built for travellers who want to eat superbly and stay engaged.

"AmaWaterways is for the traveller who loves food and likes to stay active. If your idea of luxury is exceptional dining, gentle adventure and a warm, family-run feel, AmaWaterways is hard to beat."
Cabins on AMA Waterways

AmaWaterways pioneered the twin-balcony stateroom, and it remains the signature of the fleet: a French balcony and a separate step-out balcony in a single room, so you can throw the whole space open to the air or take in the view from inside when the weather turns.
Cabins are elegant, efficiently designed and beautifully kept, with comfortable beds, marble bathrooms with multi-jet showers, and the calm, contemporary feel the line is known for.
The grandest suites, midship on the top deck, add a separate living area. Thoughtful rather than flashy, these are rooms built around comfort, fresh air and that ever-present river view.
What to Expect on an AMA Waterways River Cruise
Expect to eat exceptionally well and stay active. Dining is the headline, with The Chef's Table tasting menu included for every guest and regional wines poured freely at lunch and dinner.
But there is energy here too: guided hikes, a fleet of bikes and small-group excursions at varied paces for those who like to earn their dinner.
Most dining, wine, excursions and gratuities are included. The atmosphere is warm, sociable and refreshingly unpretentious, with the feel of a family-run line. This is river cruising for engaged, food-loving travellers who like to keep moving.
